# Clienteling & Backoffice Release 3.1

*August 2026*

***

The following new features are now available with The Wishlist Clienteling & Backoffice 3.1.

This release extends the customer profile, introduces new tools for capturing and understanding customer interactions, and significantly expands reporting across clienteling activity and conversions. It also introduces AI-assisted customer insights and a new media library for richer customer communications.

***Note: Most features are optional. Contact us to enable them.***

### 1 · Clienteling Opt-In & Suppression

*Give customers greater control over clienteling communication while helping staff avoid unwanted or excessive outreach.*

Clienteling communication preferences can now optionally be managed independently from standard email and SMS marketing consent.

This allows retailers to distinguish between broad marketing communication and personalised outreach from store teams — providing more granular control over when and how a customer should be contacted.

**With clienteling opt-in and suppression you can:**

* Record whether a customer has opted in to personalised clienteling communication
* Maintain clienteling preferences separately from existing email and SMS marketing consent
* Suppress customers from selected clienteling communication where appropriate
* Give staff clearer visibility into whether outreach is permitted before contacting a customer
* Apply suppression rules to help prevent inappropriate or excessive contact

***Note: Whilst we enforce clienteling opt-in and supression in The Wishlist, we cannot enforce it in your other systems. Where clienteling opt-in and supression have been enabled in The Wishlist, we send a corresponding attribute to that customer in your marketing platform, but it is your own team's responsibility to ensure it is enforced in those platforms.***

### 2 · Interaction History & Store Visits

*Build a more complete picture of the relationship between each customer and your stores.*

Customer profiles can now include a consolidated history of customer interactions, bringing important clienteling activity together into a single chronological view.

Store teams can also record customer visits, including visits where no transaction takes place. This captures valuable engagement that would otherwise be invisible in traditional sales reporting.

**Interaction history can include:**

* Store visits
* Messages and customer outreach
* Calls
* Wishlist and product interest activity
* Customer notes and other recorded interactions
* Purchases history remains in the existing Order History tab

#### Store Visit / Phone Call Capture

Staff can record a visit or call directly against a customer profile, creating a history of in-store engagement even when the customer does not purchase.

This provides additional context for future conversations and allows retailers to better understand the relationship between customer engagement, store visits and eventual conversion.

### 3 · AI-Generated Customer Bios & Conversation Starters

*Give staff useful customer context without asking them to interpret an entire customer record.*

The Wishlist can now generate a concise customer bio using the information available within the customer profile.

The bio brings together relevant customer context — such as purchase behaviour, wishlist activity, preferences and recent interactions — into an easy-to-read summary for staff.

Alongside the bio, The Wishlist can suggest conversation starters designed to help staff begin a relevant and personalised customer conversation.

**AI-generated insights can help staff:**

* Quickly understand a customer before making contact
* Identify recent interests and relevant customer context
* Surface useful information from across a large customer profile
* Prepare for appointments or store visits
* Generate ideas for more personalised outreach

AI-generated content is intended to assist staff rather than replace their judgement. Staff can review the available customer information and decide what is appropriate for each interaction.

### 4 · Message Dashboard

*Understand how your clienteling teams are communicating with customers — and what happens afterwards.*

The new Message Dashboard provides a central view of clienteling message activity across your organisation.

Retailers can analyse messaging activity by store, staff member, channel and other dimensions, helping managers understand both the level of customer engagement taking place and the commercial outcomes associated with it.

**Message reporting includes:**

* Total message activity
* Message activity over time
* Message volumes by store and staff member
* Channel and message topic analysis
* Customer engagement following outreach
* Revenue associated with clienteling messages

#### Halo Revenue

The dashboard also introduces **Halo Revenue** reporting.

Halo Revenue looks beyond purchases of the specific products contained within a message. Where a customer makes a purchase following clienteling outreach, the subsequent sale can be associated with that interaction even when they ultimately purchase something different.

This provides a broader view of the commercial impact of clienteling and recognises that successful outreach often starts a conversation or store visit rather than directly selling the exact product originally suggested.

### 5 · Conversion Dashboard

*See which clienteling activity is contributing to customer conversion and revenue.*

The new Conversion Dashboard provides a dedicated view of conversions attributed to activity within The Wishlist.

Rather than looking at messaging, customer activity and sales independently, retailers can analyse attributed conversions in one place and explore where revenue is being generated.

**The dashboard enables you to analyse conversions across dimensions including:**

* Conversion source
* Store
* Staff member
* Message topic
* Communication channel
* Customer segments and tags
* Conversion date and reporting period
* Revenue and order value

The dashboard provides a foundation for an expanding set of conversion types and attribution metrics being introduced across The Wishlist.

### 6 · Media Library

*Keep approved messaging assets in one place and make them easy for store teams to use.*

The new Media Library provides a central location for images and other approved content used in customer messaging.

Rather than requiring individual staff members to locate or upload content each time they contact a customer, retailers can maintain a reusable collection of approved assets within The Wishlist.

**The Media Library helps you:**

* Maintain a central collection of messaging assets
* Make approved imagery easily available to store teams
* Reuse campaign, product and brand content across customer conversations
* Create more consistent customer communications across stores
* Reduce the time required for staff to prepare messages
